PACIFIC ELECTRIC TRADEMARK +

Please be advised that MTS Imports, Inc. is the owner of the trademark for the name Pacific Electric for use on Toy and Scale Model Trains, Trolley's, and Interurbans. This trademark is registered with the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.

As a result, the use of the Pacific Electric name on factory produced Toy or  Scale Model Trains, or Decals, Dry Transfers, and Stickers for use on such Toy and Model Trains, Trolleys, and Interurbans will require that a license be acquired from MTS Imports, Inc.

We do not intend to levy burdensome requirements on bona fide manufacturers for use of the Pacific Electric registered trademark on their Toy or Scale Model Trains, Trolleys, and Interurbans that will use the Pacific Electric name. You should immediately contact MTS Imports, Inc. so that arrangements can be made for the issuance of the appropriate license for your product.

WHY MTS UNDERTOOK THIS ACTION

In 1999, MTS Imports, Inc. made arrangements with a manufacturer to produce O Scale models of various Pacific Electric Interurbans. Productions was then started on a model of the Pacific Electric 1100 - 1149 series Interurban Car. This was the first in a series of Pacific Electric models that MTS Imports, Inc. planned for this manufacturer to produce.

However, in 2000, MTS Imports, Inc. was advised by the manufacturer that they would be unable to produce any future Pacific Electric models for MTS Imports, Inc. as they had been advised by a representative of the Electric Railway Historical Association of Southern California, (ERHA of SC), that their organization had exclusive rights to the Pacific Electric name.

After investigation, it was discovered the ERHA of SC did own a Pacific Electric trademark/service mark. However, the applicability of this trademark/service mark was limited to use on "Mass Transportation Equipment," and had absolutely no application to Toy or Scale Model Trains, Trolleys, or Interurbans. As such, the representative of the ERHA of SC was erroneously stating the facts.

In order to protect our busines interests, MTS Imports, Inc.  took the action to register the trademark Pacific Electric for use on Toy and Scale Model Trains, Trolleys, and Interurbans. MTS Imports, Inc. intends to make the licensing process as painless as possible. However, MTS Imports, Inc.  will inforce it's Federal Trademark Provision to the fullest extent of the law.

CHANGE IN DEALER POLICY

Effective immediately we are no longer actively selling our products through dealers.

If you have placed reservations through a dealer, those reservations will be honored if the dealer still wishes to handle your order. If not, you should contact us directly.

All models, parts, etc. shown on our website should now be ordered directly from us.

MODEL PRODUCTION

After a long delay, we are now starting to place our previously announced models back into production.

We have been in contact with Ajin and have been told that there will be a general price increase on all the models they produce for us. The new prices will be announced when the individual models are placed into production. All prices shown in this website are subject to change unless we have recieved a deposit on that particular model.

If you have already given us a deposit on a model, the price at which we recieved the deposit will be honored.

CUSTOM PAINTED MODELS

All of our models are available on a custom painted basis.

Orders for custom painted models will be accepted as follows: The full price of the unpainted model must be sent with your order. When the model has been painted and is ready for shipment to you, you will be billed for the custom painting charges, and upon the receipt of the additional charge, the model will be shipped to you.

We can now provide our HO Scale Brill 10 Bench Open Trolley and O Scale New Orleans 900 series Trolley custom finished in various paint schemes.

The HO Scale Brill 10 Bench Open Trolley can now be ordered finished for New York Railways and Pacific Electric. The PE cars have been converted to 8 Bench Cars which the PE operated. Philadelphia Rapid transit (PRT), West Penn Railways, Brooklyn Rapid Transit and Consolidated wil be offered in the future.

The O Scale New Orleans Trolley can be ordered in either the "Original" schem or the "Riverfront" scheme. Our O scale models are provided unpowered, but can be ordered with a Q-Car power truck installed and wired for two rail or overhead operation.
